Laurelin Gilmore is best known for her fantasy oil paintings that blend human and animal or insect physiognomy, but is also a sculptor, fabricator, draughtsperson, book artist, illustrator, and writer.
Though mostly self-taught, Gilmore holds an AA degree in Fine Art and an AS degree in Library Science both from Sacramento City College. She is interested in the perceived separateness of the human world and the natural world, and aims to remind us that we are organic beings, inseparable from our environment. Her work has shown all over the world, and been featured in both print media and television!
