Description: HOW TO CREATE AND HANG A RETABLO WALL PIECE
Join Arthur Gonzalez for this opportunity to learn more about the process of designing, sculpting, and hanging your own Retablo wall piece. Covering every step, from the building of the artwork, to surface design including assemblage components, to the process of installing the hanging hardware, this workshop offers insight into Arthur’s incredible and highly technical process. He will also explain the nuances of hanging works of various sizes and weights, including advanced methods of hanging complicated forms with both French cleats and Pinch Blocks.
The John Natsoulas Gallery will provide both the clay and the hardware so that participants can hang their artworks themselves after the firing.
Arthur will also provide an exclusive preview of his exhibition “The Lookout,” on view at the John Natsoulas Gallery from May 21 to June 28.
