For over 40 years Deborah Masuoka has pushed the boundaries of clay with her iconic Rabbit Head sculptures. Featured in private and public collections across the US, Deborah's work is highly regarded for both its technical mastery and bold aesthetic. 

This workshop will demonstrate the four main stages of building a 60 inch ceramic Rabbit Head that includes constructing the base, adding height, carving, and glazing. Along the way Deborah will share insights into her materials, tools, and equipment. 

Prior to the demonstration, Debroah will share a brief overview of her career and work followed by a walk through of her newly constructed studio, Hazel Dell Studios, that doubles as a horse breeding farm.Deborah Masuoka is best known for her large-scale animal head sculptures, particularly her iconic rabbit head series. Drawing inspiration from both wild and domesticated animals and their natural social structures, her work is celebrated for its dynamic energy, conceptual depth, and striking visual impact.
